This short film begins with the diagnosis of two children - one with a harmless heart defect and one with an atrial septal secundum defect. Slow-motion animation with synchronized heart sounds and phono-cardiogram are used to demonstrate the significance of the split-second sound in the differential diagnosis of atrial septum secundum. Although I am sure that technology has brought advancement of the procedures performed in this film, the basic information is still quite timely. Great explanation of heart sounds in atrial septal defect!
